Directive on energy efficiency, amending Directives 2009/125/EC and 2010/30/EU and repealing Directives 2004/8/EC and 2006/32/EC

This Directive set the energy efficiency targets (primary and final energy consumption) by each Member State and the European Union for 2020. In addition, it established the regulation of mechanisms such as energy audits or metering that can help decrease energy consumption. This Directive established the requirements of energy audits, the entities that are obliged to carry them out and the obligations of the Member States concerning this mechanism for improving energy efficiency.
